I can’t believe I am not in Italy anymore! I will never forget the memories I made. The trip changed me in many ways. I learned that there is life outside of the United States. It was so cool to be able to see what Italy is like because Italy is a country that people talk about in the United States. There are many Italian restaurants, baked goods, and cultural aspects of Italy in the USA. I learned that real Italian food is very different from the food at Chefs and Mulberry’s. Chicken parmesan is not an actual thing in Italy. It is true that they drink wine with every meal! In Italy, people have a glass of wine with every meal but they do not drink heavy amounts of alcohol at dinner. I never drank the wine at dinner because it was not sweet. The wine was strong. During the trip, we made friends that we will never forget. The people who I studied abroad with will always have a special place in my heart. Italy was an experience of a lifetime!

Torremaggiore is a very small and friendly place. The people will do anything to make us happy. Whatever we want, we got it! People on the streets wave to us and say, “Are you the people from Buffalo?” It is like being a celebrity. The trip has been good so far. I know that I will look back at it and remember all of the people from the town. There are a few towns people that everyone from the group knows. For example, we know a shopkeeper and his mother because we went into their stationary store once and they say hello to us every time we pass by their store. Torremaggiore looks like a city but it is a small town. The people live in apartments rather than houses. People do not have backyards with their apartments. In Torremaggiore, there are a few stray dogs. We like to go up to them and pet them. Dogs are allowed to be friendly. Throughout the trip, we have been teaching in the schools in Torremaggiore. The teachers give us lots of time to teach and create lessons. Alex and I completed lessons on the weather in Buffalo, heads, shoulders, knees, and toes, and where Italy is in relation to Buffalo. We loved every minute of teaching. The best part of Torremaggiore was the Senior Grazi’s meals. Every night we had 4 course meals. It was the best experience of my life. Food is something that brings everyone together. The best memories in life are made with food! I will never forget the amount of food I had in Italy.
