The Program
The International PDS in Torremaggiore, Italy (IPDS Italy) enables teacher candidates and faculty members from Buffalo State and the University of Foggia to learn from each other educational practices considered exemplary in their respective cultures.
IPDS Italy is a 3-credit fall semester course that includes over 2 weeks abroad in January. While abroad, participants engage with K-6 public school students at San Giovanni Bosco Early Childhood/Childhood School located in the Apuglia Region of Italy, study the Italian education system through interactions with University of Foggia faculty, and develop an understanding and appreciation of Italian culture through exposure to the arts and history of this medieval town and its surrounding areas. This site has easy access to major art and cultural centers. |
The Participants
As they transition through the various adventures of their teach & study abroad experience, participants share moments, visions and thoughts through journal entries and photographs. Read about each participant's adventures and perceptions on their individual blog pages . Share your comments, questions, and supportive words as you peruse...and stop back often!
IPDS Italy is open to all Buffalo State currently enrolled students who have been accepted into any education program. View the Buffalo State IPDS program page for deadlines and application information.
