We arrived in Rome on the evening of January 6th -- a day later than schedule due to plane delay and d an overnight stay in New York. The Hotel Orlanda had arranged for us to be picked by van. The drivers were good enough to wait for us for over an hour due to the fact that all of our bags did not make it to the baggage claim area and we had to search for them in a repository in another terminal. Ashley and Taylor couldn't find their bags but were told they would be delivered in a day or two. The ride to the hotel was calming-- a clear night with a temperature of about 56. The driver of my van pointed our some historical sites on the route in. Most impressive were the pino trees that line the route to the hotel. We were all rather hungry so here we are at our first Roman feast prepared at a restaurant right next door to the Hotel. Great plans for a tour of the city before leaving for Torremaggiore in the evening.
